NWAV Meetup Friday March 26 In Portland
Join us Friday, March 26 at Fashionbuddha Studios in Portland for demos, fun and audiovisual chit-chat. We’ll start at 7pm.
Stephen Schieberl aka Let’s Go Outside will demonstrate Radial, a new way to collaborate on and perform loop-based music. Multi-touch from the ground up, Radial throws out traditional mouse interaction and linear arrangement. Loading a track sets sounds along the perimeter of a ring. Driving these sounds towards the center of the screen affects their volume, while pushing them to the very middle removes them. The circular interface favors no orientation, encouraging others to play from any side of a multi-touch surface. It’s a fun, intuitive way to interact with sounds just for kicks or as a live performance tool.
Todd Greco, aka mrBallistic will show off the next wave in hands-on video manipulation with Serato Video-SL. Live scratching with video? Yes.

Momo the Monster will demonstrate the system he’s building for performing live Hi-Def visuals in Flash, using Ableton Live, Max4Live, and the UDP to LocalConnection bridge.

look forward to seeing everyone tonight! fashionbuddha studio is located near the corner of nw2nd and davis. the outisde building doors will be locked so you will probably have to call us at 503.490.4787 to get in. there will be a sign on the door as well.
